Your School Board
The Howell Public Schools Board of Education is composed of seven local citizens, each elected to a four-year term of office.
Current Board Members
The board of education is the policy-making body of the school district. The policies which it establishes are executed by the administration and staff of the district.
Policy decisions of the board are duplicated in the Board Policy Manual, which can be found on the District website.
The Superintendent of Schools is the chief executive officer of the district but does not vote. It is the Superintendent's responsibility to advise board members on all matters, to execute policies and decisions made by the board, and to operate the district so that all students receive the best education possible.
Regular meetings are held on the second and fourth Monday of each month in the Administration Building Board Room, 411 N. Highlander Way, Suite D. Board meetings regularly begin at 7 pm unless otherwise announced. Board meetings are open to the public and copies of the agenda are available at the door.
Board agendas and minutes are available on the website. Board meetings are videotaped and may be streamed live.

Residents of the community are encouraged to communicate with Howell educators and school
School-related problems can usually best be solved by talking with the employee closest to the problem, i.e. teachers, support staff, principal. It is there that most problems can be quickly and productively resolved.
If questions still remain, please contact the superintendent. And, if you’re convinced that further action is required, your next step is to submit it to the Board of Education. You may address the Board at a board meeting during the Public Comment portion of the agenda or in writing to the Board of Education, 411 N. Highlander Way, Howell, MI 48843.
