The Howell girls basketball team has been steadily gaining some buzz, but the Highlanders turned up the voltage on Friday night, beating Ypsilanti Arbor Prep 51-41 on the road.
It was the first regular-season loss for Arbor Prep in two years and the first ever loss for the Gators on their home floor in the seven years the school has been open.
The Highlanders trailed 20-12 after the end of the first quarter, then outscored Arbor Prep 18-3 to take the lead for good in the second quarter.
