Team KILTS 10538

What is FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) FIRST Tech Challenge is a program that volunteer parents, mentors and other professionals guide a team of up to 15 students from grades 6th, 7th and 8th to compete in a multi-stage competition. The goal of First Tech Challenge is to develop future engineers, designers and problem solvers through an exciting educational challenge. Each team will compete in 2 qualifier tournaments with a motorized robot on a 12 foot by 12 foot playing field. Starting in September a new game is announced and revolves around a single theme that influences the game field, it’s obstacles and your team’s robotic strategy. The teams are also required to create an Engineering Notebook to present before a panel of judges at each qualifier to earn awards and qualify for the State Championship in December. An Engineering Notebook must contain information about the team, for example, Outreach, Community Service, Business Plan, Fundraising, Team Budget, Design Sketches, Engineering Process, just to name a few.

ULTIMATE GOAL
Ultimate goal is the 2020-2021 FTC game. It involves building a robot capable of shooting 5 inch rings into the goals and knocking over power targets. This year due to Covid 19, our competitions are going to either hold significantly less teams, or be online.
