Lewis comes to Howell from Plymouth High School in Plymouth Canton Community Schools, where he has been the head football coach for two years. In his two seasons with Plymouth, Coach Lewis had a record of 15-6. In both seasons, his team advanced to the MHSAA postseason.

Lewis was selected for the position following a thorough process. The committee then selected two candidates to forward on to an executive committee of district administrators who conducted the second and final interviews. The Howell Public Schools Board of Education will vote at its Monday, February 10 meeting to approve the hiring of Lewis.

“I am extremely excited to be apart of the Howell community. Thank you to Mr. MacGregor, John Young and Jason Schrock for having faith in me to lead this program,” said Lewis. “ I look forward to meeting with Highlander Nation and getting to work for the upcoming season”

He has experience at the high school and collegiate levels and has a proven track record as a head coach,“ said John Young, Howell Public Schools athletic director. “Brian is an educator and will continue the strong academic tradition of Howell student-athletes. He has a championship pedigree and was a tremendous 3-sport athlete in high school. As a quarterback, he led his high school football team to the MHSAA championship game and his basketball team to the semi-finals. We look forward to him leading our football program.”
