The Howell Public Schools’ Board of Education has approved the hiring
of John Young to serve as the district’s athletic director.

comes to Howell Public Schools from Westland’s John Glenn High School,
where he served as athletic director for five years. Additionally, Young
spent five years at Ann Arbor’s Skyline High School where he helped
launch and build the athletics program. Young has also coached baseball
at the collegiate level at both Michigan State University and the
University of Michigan. Young also spent two seasons as a professional
baseball player with the Detroit Tiger’s organization.
Young holds a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of Arts in Education both from the University of Michigan.
