9/21/17 – Howell High School’s annual College and Technical Education Night will be held Tuesday, Sept. 26, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. in the school’s cafeteria and commons area. The event will provide students and their parents an opportunity to meet with representatives from various post-secondary institutions. “We will have representatives from universities, trade schools and the armed forces in attendance at College Night. This will allow students to learn more about the post-secondary education options available to them,” said Jason Schrock, Howell High School principal. Howell High School’s College Technical Education Night is open to all Livingston County students and their parents.

To help promote more meaningful interactions with the college representatives, students are encouraged to register with before the College Night. When registering students can provide all their basic information and elaborate on interests, extra-curricular activities and special accomplishments. Once registration is complete, the students will receive a personalized barcode that each college representative will scan at the event, eliminating the need for students to fill out contact cards for each college.

On Wednesday, Sept. 27, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. the school will host a Financial Aid Night with a speaker from the Cleary University Financial Aid Office. During Financial Aid Night, current Howell High School juniors and seniors and their parents are invited to learn various types of financial aid available to help offset the costs of attending college. “Our goal during Financial Aid Night is to help explain the different types of financial assistance that are available to students who decide to pursue a post-secondary education option,” said Schrock.

Both College Night and Financial Aid night are part of an ongoing effort to grow and foster a college-going culture at Howell High School.
